lent 2026 (1).png

Church Family,

At Cary First, our purpose is clear: we exist to demonstrate the love and share the good news of Jesus Christ every day, everywhere, with everyone. As Lent approaches, we invite you to join us in a season of prayer and fasting as we prepare our hearts for Resurrection Sunday.

Lent runs from February 18 through April 2, leading us to Easter on April 5, 2026. This is a time to be “Devoted to prayer and devoted to the Word,” intentionally setting aside distractions and returning Jesus to the center of our lives. Fasting helps reveal what controls us and invites us to hunger and thirst for the living God.

Fasting isn’t limited to food. It can include stepping away from anything that competes for our attention or dulls our spiritual focus. Through fasting, we seek greater closeness to God, growth in self-discipline and humility, hearts marked by repentance and purification, lives shaped by obedience and compassion, and a renewed spiritual focus.

We encourage you to pray individually, with your family, and in your life groups throughout this season.

On Good Friday, April 3, we will gather for worship and then begin a 24-hour reading of the New Testament, from 7:00 PM Friday to 7:00 PM Saturday. We invite you to sign up for a time slot and join us as we unite around God’s Word.

Our prayer is that God will renew and refocus our hearts for His glory as we journey together through Lent.

Blessings,
Pastor Myron Burris

Upcoming Events

Give thanks to the Lord; call on his name; proclaim his deeds among the peoples. Sing to him; sing praise to him; tell about all his wondrous works! Boast in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
